I don't have the full fishing vest but I did get a waistbelt for wading since I
often do that solo.  It is far less restrictive than a bulky vest.  Of course,
using the belt assumes that I'll be conscious and able to get the lifevest over
my head, not exactly a sure bet.  I think that's how Datus Proper died, slipped
while wading and hit his head.  

Still, I like having the belt rather than nothing.  One problem I've
encountered though is that Air Canada doesn't permit the cartridges in luggage.
 When I tried explaining they were exactly the same thing they have in their
vests it got me nowhere.  Last summer I bought an extra cartridge when I
arrived in BC, then packed it in luggage on the way home.  There were no
problems.
