To all my friends at the VFB:

My mother passed away today. She was 91 years old and living in her home and able to care for herself. We had a nice visit just yesterday, and she was alert and in good health.

This morning she had a massive stroke. She had the presence of mind to press a button around her neck which alerted us and gave us a chance to help her quickly. There was time for her children and grandchildren to gather and we were all at her side as she passed peacefully.

While I am very sad to lose her, I am also glad that she died as she wished: quickly, and with those she loved.

She will be missed by all who knew her, she was the very best.

Thanks,

Tom Davenport
