Dean, that's a cool idea. I didn't realize that's possible. See there, lol. You mean you can do to stainless steel, what you do with wood on a lathe? tkx. mark

Maybe you could have someone turn the Dingo stem to fit the hole then the base would still work for the other ones.

Iain, thankx for all the info, effort, and concern. I found a company (don't
have the name handy) in Idaho that makes great bases, and i got one. It's
got a huge footprint, and is very heavy. I've used it with my traveler(s),
and with the Japanese Arcadia. The hole for the stem won't hold the Dingo
stem unless it's made larger. If i ever get the Dingo working correctly,
i'll have someone drill it out to fit. This base has really cool little
trays built right in to hold hooks, beads, or whatever. And inside the trays
are engraved fly illustrations. Plus the base has a brass plate in the
center with the FFF logo and my name engraved. I got it, along with my
Renzetti (CAM) Traveler at the FFF I.C. in 2003 in a silent auction. GREAT
base, just doesn't fit the Dingo stem. mark
