Kevin
My husband threw me and my tying stuff in the basement last year! He hasn't
found the stuff in the freezer yet. I'm pretty sure I'm safe there. :)
He did put a nice little electric stove that looks like a fireplace and a
carpet down there for me. He had to put two of the large plastic utility
shelves from Home Depot down there to hold all my stuff. I've migrated a
little into his storage area under the stairs also. You should hear the
noise I make when he puts anything of his on my shelves. He has started to
"eye" my fishing boxes. Like he doesn't have enough of his own flies....
He hasn't gone so far as to threaten to throw me out yet.... He did tell
me I needed to put my wood duck skin away before the boys saw it the other
day (it still has the head with all the really neat crest feathers).
I think it may have been him that it was bothering.
Honestly he is very patient with my hobby. He even has made some great
fishing buddies from my friends I bring home.
Regards,
Deb

Matt:

IMHO, "ethical dilemma" when it comes to what you attach to a tippett is a
personal matter. If you're comfortable throwing it with a fly rod, good
enough for me. I think the board has beaten that thread to near death in
past discussions.

Now, tying materials and material costs are a different matter. Thankfully
my wife has given up on "discussing" my hobbies. Yes, I do need 3,000
hooks, neatly organized in 2 boxes. And yes, I do have a reason to have
pink deer hair. No, I don't know what this whole mess cost. I clean it up
a couple times a year...... Makes no sense to her, but the fact that she
needs a new purse that to me looks the same as all the other ones she has
makes no sense to me. I guess some discussions are better off un-had.
Everyone's happier that way. She did like the bride and groom flies I tied
out of spun deer hair before our wedding, though. Or at least she showed
them to friends, which I interpret as liking......

I'm not a fan of the MO trout parks, either, but I did pretty well on the
Meramec in the wild trout areas at the end of October. The river's been too

high to fish for a much of November. I went there Thanksgiving weekend and
was almost swept away. Going to try and get back there or to the Current
before the end of the year, also in the wild areas. I'll let you know how
they're fishing.
