My brother say's I qualify... you folks decide. Comments on any rules?
1. Raising genetic birds, exotics, or game for tying purposes. Not this one. 2. Anything involving the family pet(s) and the ensuing procurement of tying materials, including whiskers for antennae. Yes both cat and dog. *Hint - simese cat hair makes a great spiky body and sinks really well. 3. Causing a traffic jam in your pursuit of road kill. Knows how to de-bug road kill. I'm guilty... satsop road. 4. Making your own hooks Not me... 5. Dyeing your own materials not to save money, but to get 'just the right' shade. I would rather spend time tying then dying... 6. Anyone who uses bark, tea leaves, roots, etc to dye materials. Nope... 7. Taking a vacation to tie flies, or make fly tying shows as a tier on a regular basis. No way... Fly tying is just not good enough. They must also be Fished in the same vacation. 8. Searches through waste cans/dumpsters for tying supplies. OK, so I have been known to do this. 9. Name on 'call list' at taxidermist (at least one) for scraps, tails, etc. Left my name but they never call back. 10. Owns more tying gear and materials than fishing gear. Hmmm... maybe. 11. People think of you first as "The fly tier", even before your profession. Nah... 12. Has more fur and feathers than he/she could ever use in a lifetime, and sees no reason not to collect more. Need more... 13. Has a library for fly-tying. Small but growing. 14. Has an dedicated area for fly tying that never gets used for anything else. Yes... Tying table is on the right. http://www.graysharborcomputer.com/flyfish/images/101004/bench1-lg.jpg 15. The first use-consideration for any container is fly materials, and people know to save them for you. Yep. Altoid tins. 16. Ties a 19/0 fly, then a size 32 Mustad fly. (Need that one so I can get in) Yikes... 17. Takes up photography, buys gear, just to support/photograph the flytying hobby. Photos of fly's & fish! http://www.graysharborcomputer.com/flyfish/adventure.htm 18. Has a web site for flytying. OK, OK... yes. http://www.graysharborcomputer.com/flyfish/ 19. Gets a rush from seeing Whiting Cree or exotic bird plumage. OK, so I slobber all over the cree... 20. Ties classic Atlantic Salmon Flies No but, that is coming as soon I can stop tying trout fly's to fish with. 21. You open a fly shop. That's when I retire. 22. You own a Whiting stuffed rooster, and then name him. You guy's are crazy! 23. You meister mega-fly swaps, and then actually do it again, and again. I've meistered my share... none of em' big or mega. 24. You enter more fly swaps than sit out. Not enough time. 25. You actually tie all of your flies for all swaps you enter. YES I DO! 26. Ties professionally although they have a job that pays the bills. You guy's are still crazy! Back under my tying pedistal... Bill P. www.graysharborcomputer.com/flyfish/
