Woke up yesterday (New Years Eve) to cloudy and having gotten lots of
rain (washing away the 8-12" of snow). It was 45, with a high of 55 and
sun expected. Met 2 friends from work at the Clinton River downstream
of Yates Dam (Bob Haering knows the area) for a little steelhead
fishing. River was VERY swollen, so made for tough and delicate wading.
Water was completely stained - you couldn't see the bottom right next to
shore.

This was Mike's first time fly fishing, and he got 3 hookups, no
landings. I also got 3 hookups, but couldn't hold on. Great day to wet
a line!

Living would be easier if men showed as much patience at
home as they do when they're fishing.
