Getting back to the post that started this thread, Sunday I was back on the water in the same place where trout were eating my indicator. A week later they were still doing it. And of course I didn't have time to tie the Mohawks or Bomber-esque patters recommended, so I still didn't catch the dern fish.......no excuses next time.......

I was thinking on this thread yesterday while fishing my favourite stream for the first time in the new year.

I remembered this fly I tied for fishing on glarey water... I managed to catch two browns with this yesterday, and missed one more :-)

Here is a picture and a pattern.... http://www.angelfire.com/on/theriverbank/indswap/ianind.htm

As an aside, I also caught my second Australian grayling ever ( a rare and protectd species...) these usually about 6 inches long, and the one I caught was 11 inches.. a monster which weas quickly rtw to hopefully make some more babies !!!

I was also lucky enough to have a cast at the biggest trout I have seen on this stream... 2 - 3lber... of course it refused all of my offerings as I could not get a drag free drift over it.. and managed to spook it when I manouvered to try to get a better position... :-)
