Denny,

Maybe a stupid question, what do I know? But would this procedure be the
same for hair materials too, or will hair materials bring in other factors
which have to be considered?

/Nick

Preston,
Use almost hot water in a sink, with a bit of liquid soap added. Soak, work
off any unwanted stuff from feathers. When satisfied they are clean, move to
sink of almost hot water (not so hot you can not put your hands in it) with
some vinegar added. This will rinse out the soap. Hand squeeze out the water
(gently). Lay out on cardboard to dry. Bag them up when dry and freeze for a
week. Out of freezer for a week and back in for another week. Suggest you
keep them in sealed zip lock bags, after dry. You can not hurt feathers by
washing gently by hand. Denny
