Exactly - a quarter mile is nothing, even in waders or hip-boots. It's a blessing, truly. Besides, my middle can use the walking <G>. I don't want to ruin the felt on the new hip-boots my wife got me for christmas, though - will likely just change out and such. Size 22 hip-boots aren't common! My truck finally died, so I'm relying on my trusty hiking boots for a while here, in case anyone was wondering, but a quarter mile for a 26-year-old (albeit with a bumm knee and lugging fishing gear) isn't bad at all. For now, I'll have to stick inside with the tying, though. Water is frozen around the edges, and the flow is now 6 to 8 knots or so. Even with Neoprenes, I'm not going into it! Guess i'm stuck inside tying and prepping for late March or even the opening day rush in April. Which reminds me, the move caught me off-guard, and the flies for the four swaps I'm in are in a brown paper lunch-bag on my kitchen table, packed up and ready to go... sorry, they never got out into the mail. I have them tied, but need a weekend when I can walk to the post office (over 5 miles each way) or get a ride from my wife when the post is open. In any case, the flies aren't in the mail yet, but will be soon. Having been late the last 2 swaps or so, I've got them done early now... but they're still not mailed! Go figure... Well, I've been writing a while today, I think I'll end this here for now. Tight wraps, Pete

It will give you something to look forward to on the way and on the way back you can reflect on what you done wrong. I have at least an 8 mile trip to do that.
