Need: a device to hold fly line while fishing in wind from bow of boat
Problem: the official flyline tamer buckets http://www.burfish.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?page=BSC/PROD/E/9502
cost too much over $140.
Solutions?
1) PVC pipe
2) Tall plastic container
How to weight the bottom?
Ginger,
I am going to be trying one of the below type recpticals in my boat this year.... they are becoming more prominent on the market.... if 24 inches is high enough to serve, camping world's version is about $7
I saw a fishing magazine somewhere suggesting this...... just figure out a 3 point system to attach them to the deck... hide-able spring loaded clips of some kind, perhaps... no need to be weighted, but more stationery.... however, a moveable weighted idea could be employed, I suppose... the unit is still ideal for quick collapse and storage...
it can be left attached to the deck at desired location for the duration of the trip, and then
the unit can then be collapsed and latched when it is time to crank the boat motor up and fly.....
