Mike, I alway's go for a parachute or paraloop pattern before a standard dry since if your seeing adults you can bet an emerger will work wonders plus you get the thrill of surface fly fishing not to mention the fishes attention a lot of times when they aren't hitting regular dry fly's... My .02
