Folks,
thanks for the advice... Since it was just a litte rust.. The wd40 did the trick.. put a few drops on left it an hour or so.. put a couple more drops on... left it another hour..
A little tap and good bit of hand twisting and it came free... I applied a little wd40 to all the threads and cleaned it up and it it is now working great...
I'll keep the extra advice for other rust problems in the future..
