Fellow VFB'ers This is a show I have participated in for the last couple of years. They put on a good show to raise money towards conservation efforts. If you are in the Newport RI area on Saturday February 19th please stop by. The show is free and the parking is free. You will enjoy some fantastic local tyers and support a good cause. It's always fun to visit Newport. This isn't a large "dealer" show it is geared towards tying and you can get up close and personal with the tyers. As always remember to check with Byard and Lines End first for purchasing materials. Regards, Deb
http://www.saltwateredge.com/events/flyfair2005.html The Saltwater Edge Conservation Raffle has raised over $7,500 since it's inception for a variety of fisheries and coastal access advocacy groups. Proceeds from this years raffle will go to support the Southwick Study which is sponsored by Stripers Forever and will gather the data to help document the social and economic value of personal use/recreational fishing for wild striped bass as compared to the seasonal value of the commercial fishery. If you are unable to make it to Newport on the 19th for the Fly Tying Fair you can still support the Conservation Raffle by purchasing raffle tickets online. There will be some great prizes this year as more companies like Simms and Heritage Kayak are onboard to help make this event an even bigger success. 100% of the proceeds will go to support the Southwick Study sponsored by Stripers Forever. If you wish to participate you can purchase 10 to 50 tickets for the Conservation Raffle in $10 increments. The numbers on your tickets will be provided to you by email. We will then place one ticket in each of the ten buckets in the raffle giving you an equal chance to win each of the ten items. Online winners will be emailed and results will be posted on the website following the show. Good Luck! Thanks Again for your support.
