I would like to thank those VFB members that responded on
and off list to my request for a source of Gamakatsu fly hooks. I must admit to being a bit of a “hook junky” as
I like to try all makes, styles, bends etc that I think may be better. Angling in BC is barbless
in all rivers and streams and also certain lakes. Now, I am not a
particular believer in barbless hooks, especially for steelhead, although I tow the
line and fish barbless but I remain convinced that I lose more fish. I
have come to the conclusion that a “micro-barb” is probably
best, but that is no longer legal under our barbless regulations. I have located a source and plan to try a few different
styles. I’m always looking for the best possible hooks. Thanks again Neville Gosling Greater |
