I saw a billboard photo- don't know where it was. All that was on it: TERRELL OWENS- NO Superbowl Rings.......Priceless
Buggs P.S. I am hosting a time-management seminar for any Eagle coaches and quarterbacks who would like to learn the value of stopping the clock in the last minute of a Superbowl when there is a chance to tie or win the game. Price: $1 mil. per head. ----- Original Message ----- From: "jerry goldsmith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 08, 2005 8:30 AM Subject: RE: [VFB] Heh Mark.... Stripers, blues, bonita. or snook and redfish. if one pattern gets boring mix it up. Any fly of yours is indeed "a gift". JG [jerry goldsmith] It was kind of weird that they played that last 5 minutes without "urgency". I have theory that I stole from somewhere, that essentially says that most teams have to be at an elevated status game at least once before they win. Somehow a team has to lose at the division level before they win that championship. Or they have to lose at the play off level before they can advance to the finals-i.e. the super bowl, World series and the NBA finals. And most teams do not win on the first trip to the biggest show. It is obviously not always true, but more often than not I find it is. It may be that this game was just "to big" for McNabb and Reid. But I have no doubt they will be back. What struck me as odd was how little pre-game hype the Eagles got. Almost every thing that was repeated over and over for the Pats is also true for the Eagles. "Best record in the last 4 years, great head coach and defensive coordinator, no salary cap problems." I, of course, was really pulling for the Pats, but honestly would not have been terribly surprised if the Birds had won. But, there is that "you generally have to be there be once before you win it theory." with the lose of both Charley W. and Romeo C., I think that the Eagles will be back to the Super Bowl before the Pats get back. You might get these flies back next year. :-)
