Kevin (read the whole message),

Hold on. You will charge me for doing work for you? Plus you expect me to
photograph hundreds of flys with labels? You need to get organized and study
the business, Kevin.

I know we have been hard on you here at the VFB but you sound like a young
man with a dream which is admirable. Experience and know-how seem to be
lacking. Am I right?

My "real job" is business consulting, business brokerage and franchise
consulting/brokerage. It sounds like you need some consulting as you don't have a
written business plan, have you? Before you throw more money into this
venture, take time to write one. If you get past square one, you will need
financing and won't get it without this.

More importantly, begin networking with professional tyers here at the VFB
to learn more about the business. These folks can tell you how hard it is to
make a living selling flys. Ask questions politely and step back from your
new business idea a minute. Listen!

I can give you a little free advice as time permits, but be aware that our
Listmaster has sold flys on Ebay and at his own e-commerce site, LinesEnd.com.
Go there and see what has happened to the fly selling part of his biz.
What are left are all on sale at very low prices.

Some tyers have their own web sites or are featured at certain shops and
their websites. Visit and admire the extensive work they have put into them.
You might contact them directly and ask if they will wholesale to you. You
can see the quality right at your computer.

But FIRST, write the biz plan and study the industry further.

Best of luck to you, Kevin.

Murf
