Funny you should mention that..... :) ..... I remember when I still lived in Chicago I had a girlfriend that couldn't resist a man in uniform (we all know one of these....). Anyway, the HMS Fife and the HMS Juno decided to dock at Navy Pier on their last trip before their decommission? She met a really nice guy. I got a good tour of the boat out the deal from one of the superior officers so who am I to complain? Did you know they had bars on board? We don't have bars on our ships!!! Before we all get too envious let me explain that they aren't stocked with the good stuff if you know what I mean, they can actually make an inferior beer for the enlisted men, there's something wrong with this picture! Anyway, when we took him for a walking tour of downtown Chicago he spotted a mate up the block walking towards us.... we of course didn't recognize him or know they were acquainted.... until he yelled out to his buddy.... "Can I bum a fag from you mate?" Which can have a very different meaning here in US. I was ready to crawl into the nearest crack in the building so not a soul would think I was with him. ROTFLMAO!!! Not something you will ever forget. I'm so thankful I made it through that day without anyone getting deeply offended by me. Deb
