one suggestion for keeping them clean is to put a couple table spoons of lemon juice in it and fill it about 1/2 way with water, store it in the freezer then just rinse out thoroughly the next time you go to use it. Heck a little lemon taste in the water wouldn't be bad.

I have a hard time believing that if they did a test on that bag it wouldn't have all kinds of bacteria in it. It is so hard to clean those things. That may be just my hang up though... every time he pulls that out I just ...eeeeewww. He doesn't listen to me either. Deb I'm glad I was able to help you prove a point Deb. And good for him with the disapproving look. It's a fine product!! But as far as overloading the vest well sounds like he needs to carry a little less. : ) Jim Deb you're wrong about the hydration pack. It's a great way to carry a lot of water. I have one in my Backpack that carries about 2 liters of water, I'll easily go through that in a 5 hour hike. It's also extremely convienient to have the tube with the bite valve so you don't have to mess around to get a drink. As long as you clean it it's not discusting. Currently I carry a water filtration bottle while fishing. It allows me to get Cold water anytime I want. Jim
