The aftershart feathers can vary from location to location on a bird, from
bird to bird of same species, and between sub-species ( a ring-neck pheas.
vs a silver pheas.), and between species (a pheas. vs a partridge).

I checked about 6 pelts last night, and plucked a large variety of
aftershafts from different birds. All had weak shafts, and would require
reinforcing when tying in.

What about a flyswap FEATURING aftershaft feathers? Who wants to meister
it? I'll be #1 joiner. Let's have no more that 15, OK?
