I tie because I enjoy the whole process. First acquiring the materials, probably more than I'd use in 2 or 3 lifetimes and still getting more. Then there's storage challenge. That has to be done and then modified and then maybe start all over from scratch. Then the tying itself whether an existing pattern or just making something up because I bought the material and really should use it. Finally comes the fishing part. The more you tie the more you have to fish just to see if things work. In short the whole process is just fun.
