It would be a tough decision . For a dry I would choose an Adams. For a nymph it would be a Hares Ear. For a wet fly it would be a Partridge and Peacock. If my decision was strictly a matter putting up a high catch total it would be the Hares Ear. For angling pleasure I would choose the Adams. For my enjoyment there are not too many things which can compete with the rise of a trout for dry fly . There are other patterns I would choose over the ones mentioned but they are contemporary patterns.
