Courage?  From a guy like Ray who has given without thought of reciprocation for many years?  Not even a thought about such.  Ray hardly knew me those many years ago when he sent me some very difficult to tie flys.  Heck, that was before the VFB existed and maybe before I met Byard at the International Tying Show.

You sound like a guy who knows a lot about flytying.  Sometimes you sound much like I did when I first joined my first fly fishing list.  A bit bold dare I say?  I am verbose and post often ("heh heh", as someone once said).  You seem to be a more active tyer than I ever was and are probably a better one.  Just appreciate the folks you meet through life as their lousiest fly might encourage a great friendship.

This is not a "pick on M" post, rather a comment for us all to appreciate the commraderie we enjoy through the VFB and our mutual interests.  Mark posts a lot and I see that he has met a lot of interesting folks and appears to have acquired good tying skills.  I figure Mark's open attitude towards others is much like mine and often misunderstood.

My only reason to say such is because Mark is unlikely to take this personally.  He's like me I'll bet.... Whoops, now I've insulted him!  Forgive me, please!!!

I'll bet Mark understands me quite well.  He's a bright guy with a lot of fortitude and can handle an ornery old fool like me.  If not, he can take me behind the barn and beat me into submission.

Okay Mark, you are invited to the cabin....but you have to cook and tie for us.   Sheesh!  Just kidding Mark about the tying part.  Ouch! .... That does it!  You have to bring the single malt too!!!  I prefer Lagavulin.  -murf
