The lumber yards have a product called Jasco in the
paint stripper area..And it says it strips epoxy. Its a strong caustic and is a
great paint striper. jell so It will stay put more or less. I havent used it on
epoxy but I claims to work. I shouldnt eat the the reel but I would keep it off
your line etc...

Nothing. For or practical purposes, cured epoxies
are insoluble. Which means, there are chemical ways of softening/breaking down
epoxy, but they would be rather hard on your reel seat as well. I think that a
good night's soak with paint stripper would attack the epoxy, BUT also the
reel seat. Usually, heat and mechanical means (such as twisting force) are the
best option.
