The Sowbug show is a tyers show. We do have a few vendors but it is not a commercial show.
It is a show for education on flytying more than anything else. We have youth programs and free tying instruction. The admission is very low priced, 5.00 USD for all three days. Youths up to 16 years old free. The tyers are given a free barbecue on Friday evening.
The show is put on by The "North Arkansas Flyfishers", a local fly fishing club. This show next week will be our 8 th year and will be the fourth year as an International show. We have had VFB members from Germany ( Renne and Anna) and Holland (Martin Westbeek) attend as tyers. Rene was here twice. This year, Gordon Mackenzie from England will be attending as a featured tyer along with others. We will have close to 125 tyers demonstrating their tying skills in the three days. A number of them are VFB members.
For the programs that we will have, see http://www.northarkansasflyfisher.org
We try to keep this a family show and want to keep it as a tyers show.
I have been the Flytying chairman for 8 years. I will be stepping down next year and will be a advisor.
I think I have talked to you about coming over and being one of the tyers, the offer still stands and we can butter that up a bit.
Contact me off list if interested.
Hope this don't sound too much like a commercial but it is flytying related.

I read a lot about the Sowbug. Is the Sowbug unique to the US? Unique to certain states maybe? Or is it found widely around the globe?
