Hi VFB:
Been having some fun with the Terraserver. Here is a link to a cut-and-paste aerial of the North Platte River below Grey Reef Dam near the town of Alcova, Wyoming. This is water that Dono fishes often.
Some people are going to get a white screen when you open up the photo. Never fear! You need to scroll down to the bottom left to see the Grey Reef area of the aerial photos. The river runs downstream up and to the right from there.

I am going to play around with other fishing destination waters to see what views are possible. The resolution in general is only good enough for large rivers and reservoirs / lakes.

Hello VFB:
This conceivably might be used to scout fishing locales.
Some folks are citing the availability of this service as yet another example of deterioration of privacy.
Go to: http://www.terraserver.com/search/address_search.asp
Enter in your address or an address you are interested in seeing. Other options are to the left: coordinates, zip code, county, etc. I had to do a screenshot to get the image. Using right-mouse-click doesn't work.
The link below is to where Linda and I live in Bend, Oregon. The circular blank spot with the spiral line is Pilot Butte, an extinct volcano cinder cone - now State Park and locals' favorite lookout viewpoint at 400' higher than surrounding terrain. The dark S-shape at top left is the Deschutes River. Downtown Bend is directly left of Pilot Butte, the white shapes near the edge of the picture. About 20 miles further left is the Cascade Mountain range.
