Hi all,
I've been busy beyond belief lately and have finally gotten to checking my
1500+ e-mails from the last, oh, who knows how long. I have a question or two
for everyone...

First, I saw someone tying with a very deep color of purple wire, darker (by
far) than Wapsi's purple wire. It looked fine, say #33 or so. Who makes it,
and where can I find it?

Second question is, I got a European Jay pelt/ skin that is gorgeous. The
obvious use is the scappular feathers for wings on atlantic salmon flies...
what can I use the wispy body+ back feathers for? They seem too small for spey
hackle (though I've used crow). Ideas or suggestions?

I was at the Ft. Washington Show this last weekend and met several new
friends from this list and renewed friendships with still others - too many to
list, but it was a blast. I love the looks I got from some old salts when they
saw what I was tying... "You are tying a spey pattern, a chironomid pupae in
size 22, a cased caddis nymph, an isonychia burntwing dry, and a novelty
foam-winged dragonfly?" Hey, I've never been one to stay to one style, so I
figure it's something for everyone.

On a different note, I got some orders for flies, and have NO clue how i'll
crank them out what with all that's keeping me busy lately. Speaking of which,
I showed up right AT 9am (the start time) of the show... my wife cleaned our
pet rabbit's cage with 409 cleaner and didn;t wash it well. Aparently this
stuff tastes to animals like automobile antifreeze, and the rabbit had to be
taken to the vet hospital. So, long story short, it had his stomach pumped, is
doing fine now, and I was 2 seconds shy of being late to tye at the show.

Well, i have a ton of e-mails to read through, so I'll send this off and see
what folks have for answers to my questions.
Thanks and tight wraps,
Pete
