The indigenous penguins along Australia's southern coast are called Little
Penguins there. They are of the Eudyptula minor species. They're about ten
inches tall and weigh two or three pounds. We visited two rookeries including
Kangaroo Island. I believe that you must go to Antarctica for the Emperor
penguins.
If you do, ;-) be sure to stop in Melbourne, because spending several hours
with Ian Mitchell and his lovely wife Nicole was a marvelous highlight of our
trip. They are wonderful people.
