How much longer do you have before you get your degree? This may be an
opportunity to accelerate that and you will find it a lot easier to find
a good position after you have that piece of paper. At this point be
careful how much you emphasize the fact you are in school, many
employers will actually see that as a negative. They feel that you are
only looking for a "temporary" position and that as soon as you finish
school you will leave. Good luck and remember that although it looks
bleak in the first few weeks these situations usually turn out being
blessings in disguise, ending up with better positions with more options
and fresh challenges.

One bit of financial advice if your, mortgage is going to be a problem
notify the bank as soon as possible, believe it or not the last thing
they want is for you to lose your home and if at all possible they will
work out a plan to help get you through. The worst thing you can do is
not tell them and start making short or no payment!!

Thanks DonO! Part of the problem is that IT & manufacturing is
extremely
depressed here in the Motor City. I am planning on checking with the
school's employment office tomorrow.

Bob,

Sounds like a computer-controlled manufacturing (CAD/CAM, Robitics)
position
in the making. Talk with a head-hunter. They may be able to hook you
up,
and the company will pay the fee. With that GPA, they may even spring
for
some of your education if you strike a deal with them. It can't hoit ta
try.
