It used to be called weaving with gimp, this was waay back when I was a camp counselor for Morgan Memorial! We used to teach all the kids to make a key chain.

I've been working on weaves all weekend. I did the bottom one and 1/2
macrame stitches. The top one in the picture looks at first glance to be
the way they weave four strands of plastic lace together to make those key
chains that are a square shaped weave. They just tied them around a hook.
I'll play with it later and see if it works out. I'm lousy at explaining it
so I hope you recognize it by my description. School kids make them a lot
here.

Subject: [VFB] Weaving and knotting...

Advanced thread abusers... here's a question for you:

I was browsing around and found a body weave I hadn't seen before. Take a
look at the "Holey Head Crocheted Case Caddis" on:
 http://www.markov.baikal.ru/keep/8m/hh_croch.html

I then looked for the word 'crocheting' and found a bunch of instructions on
this technique:
 http://www.acc.umu.se/~widmark/fly/lwcroche.html

... which I was already familiar with and sure doesn't look like the one on
the caddis. (I see four different threads on that one.)

Does anyone know of an online instruction for the weave used on that caddis?

Thanks
/Nick
