Buck,
Glad to hear it worked for you. It seemed to do real well for several of the guys that got to fish during the Sowbug show.
There was a large Brown and Rainbow caught below my dock one evening. There was a nice Rainbow caught off my dock one afternoon. Matt Fuller did well with it at Wildcat. Denny and I did well with it at Tucker the Saturday before the show.
I really hate to be using it most of the time but it does work well and it is my GO To fly. I have a friend that ties them is sz 4, 6 and 8 for Carp and does very well with it in the bigger sizes.
I have taken my biggest smallmouth on a sz 8 pepper.
I do want to mention again, I am not the originator of this fly. The original was tied as a joke and given to me because I would not fish "Woolly Bubbers" as my Commercial tying friend called them. Long story, will tell you about it when I see you next March

For those of you out there that question the workings of this list please let me enlighten you. I managed to go fishing today. The first really good day this year.
Before I left the house I took one Chili Pepper of Tony Spezio. Tony sent me two along with one of his frogs. As I left the house I thought maybe this fly is as good as Tony says. I fished one pond on the golf course where I always fish and did not get one single hit.. But then I did what a good friend in Wisconsin taught me. Dont' fish where there are no fish. So, I went to one other pond on the golf course where there was a cove sheltered from the wind a little and was also shallow. I figured the water would be warmer there. I put on one of Tony's Chilli Peppers and on the third cast caught one really nice bass. I proceeded to catch not only bass but also crappies, one that would go around one pound and two that would go 1/2 pound. Then the bass really started. I caught three bass running from 1/2 pound up to three pounds and all on the chilli pepper. That three pounder took quite a while to land on the three weight. Three runs and finally got him in.
Then I lost that chili pepper on the next run as I couldn't turn the fish whatever it was. He broke the four pound tippet. All was not lost. Wearing the same vest that Allan Fish and I fished with last fall. I had an Electric Chicken that Allan had given me. I put that on and caught two more crappies and two more bass. I am sorry for taking so much bandwith but I just had to tell about my fabulous afternoon, all alone, and no one to talk about it.

Thanks for listening and Thanks Tony and Allan. You can bet I will tie up some
of those chilli peppers and some more electric chickens.

Buck......
