Little piece of the story on my Firetiger Popper. This was one of my first atempts at building and shaping custom colors for fly poppers. Mayhaps they were a little long, I'll get it better next time. Glued 2 and 3 mm craft foam together with M77 and cut out cylinders using sharpened tubing chucked into my drill press. Then they are shaped using Sleazy Steve's (http://www.jvlnet.com/~swinters/) dremel tool shaping bits and common emery boards. SS also sells cutters, but I don't like the large drill bit he puts in it. The face is shaped with a different, rounded bit. Glue onto a #2 stinger hook and finish as you would any popper. The orange stuff is kool-aide dyed artic fox. Same body on a long stainless hook and no hackle and its good in the surf.
