I would try to contact the manufacturer.  They may replace the jaws
at no charge. There are people who have
tied thousands of flys on the Dan Vise with no problems.  You may
have received one where the jaws were not hardened correctly.
Anyway it's worth a try if you're happy with the vise otherwise.
