WOW CHARLIE! Sounds like Texas white bass ( Sandies) fishing. :-P
The way the whites fight on a casting rod is awsome, but nothing like
fighting one on a fly rod. Of course, an old Arkansas boy like you
already knows that. VBG

I heard a report of the white bass running on the ARkansas River below
my house. My stepson and myself went out Saturday evening and he took
the zebco 33 and caught about 10. I took flyrod and didnt catch many
fish until about 745 from then until to dark to tie on another clouser
minnow caught about 30. They really loved the yellow/black streamer
hair clouser with red eyes the boy was also catching them on yellow
and black jigs. Went back yesterday evening and the water had dropped
about 5 or 6 feet and the fished had moved away from the banks. First
time to ever catch the white bass like that on a fly rod was a lot of
fun. We usually hit them schooling in the hot summer on the shoals but
have never caught that many.
