DonO: The Dolores below MacAfee Dam is supposed to blue ribbon trout
water, but I have not turned a fish in it. I think it gets hit
extremely hard. I Think the Dolores above the town of Dolores looks
great, clear up to Rico, but never stopped to fish. The left fork
(north ?) is a beautiful stream but a lot of it is private. There is a
fork on that fork that comes in from the west, but it is all walking.
Supposed to be really nice. Drive East from Montrose to Gunnison and
fish the Taylor River. Taylor Reservoir, and above. Lots of country
and water.
I was in Grand Junction last Thursday with my college choir. We sang
an exchange with the choir there at Mesa State College.

JimmyD,

I have so many alter-egos now that I can't keep track of them all.
We're
planning a family reunion next weekend to get re-aquainted. Veronica
is in
charge of the plans. Buggs said he would bring a carrot-cake.

Just got back from Naturita, Colorado. It's right in the middle of
spring
run-off time there, so the streams there were really muddy. I was more
a
'greenie' than the Coloradans and tried to go over Colo hwy 90 to
Naturita.
HA! I would have needed a snowmobile. So I turned around (almost
getting
stuck) and went through Montrose and Ridgeway, then west to Naturita.
It was
the long way around, but I didn't want to back-track all the way to
Grand
Junction.

Good part is I stopped in the flyshop in Ridgeway on the way home and
made
friends with one of the owners there, but the shop in Montrose
(Cimmaron, I
think) was closed up early yesterday and I didn't get to meet those
guys.
So I drove on up to Grand Junction and spent the night with a friend
there-
doing rope-dub lessions until the late hours.

This project is south of Naturita towards Dove Creek, so this summer
I'll
have a chance to wet a line in all those waters in the central to SW
corner
of Colorado. So I'll probably buy a yearly out-of-state license.

Who knows the best spots to fish there? Anybody on the list from that
area
or has fished it a lot? The Delores is small, but looks fishable. I
bet
it's all little-bitty fish 20" and smaller there, but that will beat
nuthin'.

DonO

<DonO, you and Nick need to come up with some more alter egos. Turn
them
loose on the VFB.>
