Update #3
Mustad 79850 1/8' bead worked on size 12 had to drop to 3mm for size 14. If you are looking for weight more than size tungsten beads may work.

My earlier reply was done in too much haste. After looking at the bead chart and then checking the Mustad section of the book and the 3906 hooks that I have I would also include the Sproat bend in the NO-NO list. My 3906 hooks look more like a Limerick bend than the Sproat that the book says that have. I did find a hook that took a 3mm bead on a size 14 hook but I cant remember what it was offhand. Will check my beads and hooks and get back.

Gents,
I have had one [EMAIL PROTECTED](*& of a time trying to put the right bead with the right hook. I have tried them all from mustad to tiemco. Looks ot me that the gaps aren't wide enough. What brand of hooks out there that work. Thanks.....

Dave, i tye with beads a lot, and i've never had any problems getting the
bead over the bend. Just smash down the barbs. Basically that's all you need
to do. Maybe your trying to get a bead on the hook that is to small for that
hook. I use Daiichi and Gamakatsu hooks because i get them for free. I would
continue to use them even if i didn't. And i am not paid to say that. mark
