"I'm used to casting while standing on the deck of my eighteen-foot bass boat in Texas, but you don't stand on the tiny deck of a drift boat without getting tossed out into the boiling, surging white water. I almost learned the hard way before my bother-in-law Tom let me know in no uncertain terms, "Hey, smart ass, this ain't no bass boat, get your butt down from there or I'll be dragging you out of the McKenzie!" So, I stood on the bottom with my knees pushed into the little "knee cutouts" at the edge of the tiny deck, but I still had to hang on or be tossed."
