After the delays and cancelations we finally had a new plane and crew, the
airport baggage handlers had found my fishing rod, and we were off to
Cyprus.
On arrival at Larnaca we went looking for my baggage, and were delighted to
find both ourselves and our baggage had arived at the same destination on
the same day and all was accounted for including the fishing rod.
Slight problem, The rod had been packed in a length of hard tough plastic
pipe for traveling, the pipe was in two pieces and the 3 piece kevlar rod
was in 6 pieces taped together and in a poly bag that was taped shut with
british airways parcel tape. That ended all thoughts of a fishing holiday .
The next day, being warm and sunny (90 degrees or so) Linda came down with a
real bad respitory infection and spent the remainder of our holiday in bed
ill.
Saturday night we went to the airport for the return flight, borded the
plane and headed home. Anyone who thinks that British or American airline
food is bad needs to try Cypriot airline food, that was quite an experience,
one i will never repeat.....
Linda has generously infected me with the same bug and here I sit typing
while coughing like a dead man......
Still, only a few months till we go back to Cyprus, I will book the flights
this week.
