Well, I managed to get a bit of rest last night. Still stiff from the trip,
but will try to limber up and work it out today.

Now, as to the doctors visit. The eye exam went fairly well, will have my
new tri focal in a bit over a week. Yep, tri focal this time. I had enough
fun getting used to bi focal, this may be interesting. The doc did a very
thorough and complete exam. Pressure was good and the insides looked good,
for the most part. It was when he was doing the visual examination with the
lights and stuff that I got the big surprise.

I have the beginning stages of macular degeneration in my left eye. He said
that it was beyond detectable, that it was evident. The right eye is fine
with no signs of trouble, other than needing corrective lenses. He suspects
that it is due to a trauma to that eye, or that side of the head/ face.
Either way, it is there. I will be going up there every 6 months for regular
check ups on it, unless... I have a wall chart and have to do a self test at
least twice a day, or anytime I experience headaches, nausea or dizziness.
When I do the test, if I have any blank spots, wavy or crooked lines or
anything else out of the ordinary, I am to call them "Immediately". They
will arrange an appointment for me within 48 hours of the call. He explained
to me that this was "Serious" business and that I should treat it as such. I
agree whole heartedly.

He explained that this was more than likely the reason for my focusing
problems and my problems with doing close, detailed work on small things.
The new glasses will help, and he has prescribed some drops for my eyes as
well. Now for me to educate myself on macular degeneration and look at what
"I" can do myself to slow it down. As one may say, back to school for me. As
always, I will research homeopathic as well as other treatments and seek
advice from friends and family.
Have a good day folks,
I plan to.
