I fished the Provo this week under Jordanelle and Deercreek. We did alright and of course the Green although while we tired to fish they raised it to 3600 and the next day to 4500cfs. Really messed up the fishing.MikeB ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Davenport" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, May 20, 2005 1:40 PM Subject: Re: [VFB] Wader QuestionAt the moment, the lakes and reservoirs will be the ONLY place to fish. The river's are roaring and it is really a great sight! The Weber, which has been a low 200 cubic feet for the past five years will be running over 2000! This is just what the river needs to scour out the muck that has been collecting in the nice holes during the drought. I am sure it will help bring back the glory days for that river.I went up to East Canyon reservoir yesterday after school and really enjoyed the outing even though the fishing was poor (my fishing buddy and I only managed to catch one fish each) It was good to be out on the water under blue and sunny skiesI attached my 3 horsepower Tanaka outboard to my kick boat which added to the fun. I found I could tow my friend's kick boat by having him hang on to my anchor rope. I would haul him up wind a good distance and then we would just let the wind blow us back, fishing as we went.It worked great! The only problem was that the propeller would lift a bit out of the water with each wave if I tried going too fast. But we were in no hurry and took a slower pace. Later in the evening the wind died down and I was really able to make a wake running the motor at top speed. This was kind of a "test run" for the motor and the first time I tried towing someone. It would work very well on Strawberry since the place I like to fish has a prevailing breeze which always blows you back in the direction of the launch site.Let's set a date to go up together. Next week looks bad since it is the last "real" week of school and a lot is going on. Next Saturday and Memorial Day I already have commitments. But Friday, June 3rd, is the first day of summer vacation and I would like nothing better to start it on Strawberry. Weather willing, why don't we plan to meet up in Heber around 7:00 AM? I'll bring my extra pontoon boat.Or, if you are really anxious to get out I can meet you at my home any evening around 3:00 pm and we can hit one of the local reservoirs near my place: East Canyon, Lost Creek, Echo, Rockport , Smith Morehouse, Pineview and Causey are all an hour or less from my house. If we are in the water by 5:00 we can enjoy good evening fishing until 8:30 or 9:00.Tom On May 20, 2005, at 8:40 AM, Larry Johnson wrote:Tom: I want to go today. I've been thinking about you and your fishing lately. I am in the process of buying a pontoon boat. That could open some potential for us.... I am interested. The Hodgman Wadelite waders fit the bill.Iwas wondering if anyone has any positive or negative comments about them on or off list or has any other suggestions. I am getting so excitedIcan hardly stand to be around myself! Bruce, i have been using the Hodgeman breathables every since they came out.
I love 'em. Only thing is, they do leak. Maybe it was because i was using a
size small pair, lmao. I like my waders to fit like a clove, (wet
suit).........had to go with no socks because the neoprean feet were so
small. Still like them though. mark
