I have sent sections of rod inserts to some of the list members to repair broken rods. Will be glad to do the same for you.
I need to know the ID of the hole on the broken section.
You will have to scrape the outer part of the insert to remove the shiney coating, insert the  section in the hole with Devcon two ton epoxy. The lower part of the insert because of the taper, will be larger than the butt part of the hole on the rod section. You will have to slot the lower part of the insert so that it will close a bit to fit the hole. The other way is to install the insert through the hole at the ferrule.Run it up to the break and have a section of the insert sticking out from the break. Slip the upper part of the tip with glue on the insert. You have to do all the fitting dry first before applying any glue. Fit the two sections together and wrap with thread.
It is a real simple when you see it done. The rod I will be using today has been repaired that way twice.
If you want to take care of the postage, send it to me. I would be glad to do it for you.
