He's gathering ideas for a tying station and a portable set up to build for me. Of course I'm trying to get him to tie some simple flies for himself, to me a Griffith Gnat is boring, but it's his go to when nothing else works.Quick word about Roscoe Campsites, it appears to have a prime piece of river hidden behind it and trout were being taken every evening, so I would go again. When you approach the entrance looks big enough for a VW Beetle, however we got a 33' Winnebago down and back out with Deb running off all oncoming traffic, and his fees are reasonable.Deb and I had great meals, shopped at every fly shop in the area, replenished materials, books, now we are ready to take on Sowbug in March.I have digital photos, where can I post them, or send them. And a big Thanks to Mark and Misa for all the work and planning, this should be a annual event!Peggy Brenner UFT - MA President Ed Engelman/Sue Atkinson wrote:My own children do not think of me as being patient at all !!!!Brendan's enthusiasm was great. Some day he may even catch up to you in tying!!!Deb, I'm looking forward to seeing the pics. hint - hint[ for those who were not there, the vise that I tied on at the show was one that I made from a carpenter's bit and brace, a carpenter's plane, and three steel files. ]Really, I enjoyed myself tying and meeting everyone. Misa won the hat !!!! Very cool. Ed EngelmanI sat next to Ed Engleman who did very well with Brendan testing all his homemade vises and tools. They dostand up well to the 5 Yr old test and he is a very patient man. We met agentleman from Arkansas, a fellow Whiting Pro Team member named CharlesBarton. Whiting supplied us with some great pro-team shirts this year so wewere both looking pretty sharp. :) They spoil us! I bought a specialframe with three of Tim Trexler's flies to add to my book shelf next to DonO's giant Muddler. It's looking pretty good.Mark Romero had arranged for us to get a really nice lunch through the Kingsand after that we headed off to the Catskill Museum and we spent a whileenjoying their exhibits. Misa Romero had given us directions to find Mary Dette at her shop. What a treat!!! She is such a sweet lady. We both leftwith a few flies for our fishing the next day and a couple pins for our hats. Then it was back to town to get a fishing license for me and some more goodies at the Orvis store. Cont. www.uftri.com
Ed, Peg, and Deb, glad you all had fun. Sure hope you'll be back for next
