Jimi, Pete,
If memory serves, the Mustad 80150BR come with a black finish, the tiemci
in a more bright, metallic color. Not really silver,

Hey, Jimi-
I use the 80150BR a WHOLE lot for my nymphs, and have found that the
tiemco is the closest match, with the exception that the shank-bend is
a little (1/16"??) closer to the eye. Daiichi has a wider gape, and
(though I've never had one for comparison) I've heard that partridge
is almost identical. I have never heard reports of, nor personally
used, the Orvis brand hooks. Ihave used Gamachatzu or however you
spell that one, and they are the best I've found for
realistic-replicating hook shape and bend. Personal opinion, that is,
but it's just about a perfect match for the Isonychia bicolor nymphs I
find in SE Pennsylvania. Because the hook is 3XL, I sometimes use a
hook- size smaller. I have a bunch i you would like them - not sure
the sizes, but I've found 14 and 12 to work best for trout and 16 or
14 for bream.
Just my 2 cents worth,
Pete

This is from a comparison chart, does anyone know if the hooks by
different
makers are about the same in shape?
