The mice numbers explode, whcih creates a very nice feeding opprotunity for the large brown trout that inhabit the rivers that flow through the beech forests. The upper westhand corner of hte South Island of new Zealand has some beautiful beech forests, unlogged and mostly untouched by man.For many trout anglers this is heaven, the large trout feast on the mice that swim across the river , especailly at night during the summer months... Dec - feb...My contacts tell me this year is expected to be a Mouse Plague year... remember that article I sent you don O... Mouse fly = trout fly ! WOW, way cool Iain. You just reminded me that i need to do some night
fishin' while it's nice and warm at night during the next couple months. I
know one really nice pool for doin' that where you can leave your truck
runnin' with the lights on the water and it's a very easy pool to wade. And
nothin' works any better than a mouse. Although i usually prefer a muddler
minnow, sometimes with a cone head. OH! i better GET. Just remembered i
rented a Nichole Kidman flick. lol, mark.....
