Ginger: I was there last weekend. Fun place. Very touristy, like all resort towns in the Rockies. Still lots of run-off water in the drainages. The Big Thompson runs out of the park and right through Estes Park. The canyon below is a beautiful stream, but is difficult (for me) to fish. It loses a lot of altitude in a hurry, and that means pocket water all the way down. It gets fished heavily. Wet flies: bead head nymphs, RS2, etc. Dries: small Stimulators, Yellow Humpy, PMDs. There is a good fly shop, called Kirk's Fly shop, right downtown. Nice guys, helpful. They will tell you everything you need to know.

I told Bob twice to take me off the fly tying list for Montana. Did you read it in official print or just the e-mail Bob sent. I will be in San Fransisco with my 3 sisters and parents. Would to have liked to fish with you. Husband has a new job at Tarpon Lodge, Pine Island Florida. So I am tripping without him. Going to Estes Colorado for business Sept 5-9. In Rocky Mtn. National Park. Anyone ever been fishing there?? Ginger M. Haven't seen you on here for a while. Just noticed that you'll be in Livingston in Aug. though. Glad to know that. I can't wait already, lol. I have two days already reserved on De Puys for my wife and i. Looks like all the shifts the FFF reserved are already booked FULL! Fortunately i booked the two days (before the Conclave even starts) months ago...... he he he he. We're gonna fish "the Creek" without a guide this time to save a couple bucks. Last time it was $400 a day for quide and rod. This time it'll only be $100 each for the rod, per day of course. I guess we can handle our own lunch, lmao. That guides bologna sandwiches weren't that great anyway.........lol. Boy those big fat fish on a size 24 hook are a TON-O-FUN! I'm still dreamin' about the grand slam i had on Armstrong's. Well lemme know if your gonna be there early. Maybe we can fish together somewhere. ????? Hope so. I know some spots, he he he......... mark..... p.s. we'll be there by the 4th i hope.
