CA will also do the same thing with a paper towel. Put down wax paper to
catch any drips. CA will stick to wax paper but will peel fairly easy and
it won't soak through the wax paper.
I go through a lot of CA and buy the 16 oz bottle for $32.

Maybe it is cause she had put some "highlights" in her hair just a few weeks
