Enviornmentalist, .....Conservationist, ..... what matters is NOT letting the government (powers that be) suck you in to the same ole' devide and conquer mentality that they use to "get over" all the time. Thanks Ginger.

Very enlightening. I must be a conservationist. I conserve my energy and
don't work too hard- does that count?

I think Buggs is an environmentalist, Demento is a destructionist (likes
Southern-fried spotted owl with snail-darter soup), and Veronica is a
fish-kisser. LOL

Actually, I remember the thread about the 'footprint' we make by our
lifestyle. Hmmmm. I have 4 acres. There are 3 horses in the pasture, the
deer bed down among my trees every night, the racoons and bats nest in my
barn, the birds party on my deck more than we do, the squirrels and birds
feast on the feed we give them, and nest in the trees out back. I'd say we
have a nice symbiotic relationship with nature. We-all just enjoy each
other's company.

Now off my property- well, we live in Wyoming- pretty pristine and
uncluttered by people. Not a lot to get all riled about- 'cept tourists.

Well said!!!!!Mike M. My grandfather and uncle were also involved in forming
early TU chapters in Michigan. It seems the term "environmentalist" is
widely perceived as bad. I was enlightened by the discusssion on this list.
It is very unfortunate so maybe we should call ourselves conservationists
instead (see below). Remember there were some good changes started by these
"whackos" like the ban on DDT and some aerosol sprays that were depleting
our ozone layer.

The recent article in Fly fishing magazine ...
