I think we have all learned from this, as Jerry G. pointed out, and we should
put this horse to sleep. You are right... people should not lump and label PETA
activists, Green peace activists, Sierra Club activists, or any other such
group into the term "environmentalists". I teach environmental education so I
guess you could call me an environmentalist. I hope Jimmi would not dump me in
the desert.. Let's all move on...........

I was just offended that people were using 'environmentalist' as a slang foul
word. These are the only people in the west that are really fighting for our
habitat as a full-time job. I'd hate to think where we'd be without them.
Sure, TU and other groups do a lot of good work here, but here in MT it's
mostly just buying water so it's not used for irrigation. The real enviros
protect our forests and spawning tributaries. And I have friends that do it.
The Native Forest Network is some of the most tree-hugging people you've ever
met, and a lot of them fish, when they're not chained to a tree of course :)

I just consider myself a hippie I guess. I don't know how else a trout bum can
classify themself. I live in nature many days of the year, and I believe in
conserving natural resources. Mostly I think people use much more than they
really need. Like when you go to McDonald's you get almost as much trash as
food for a small example. So please don't talk about randomly kicking
someone's ass(especially mine) for believing times must change for us exist
somewhat harmoniously with our planet.

I apologize if I was perhaps too harsh earlier, but this is a very heated
debate in the country, and I anticipated some major flack for it.

Todd
