John,

Thanks.  Sounds like you've had an interesting life.  There's usually around 500 signed up on this board, but a smaller amount is active, and a smaller amount we just can't seem to keep quiet.  LOL.  (Just kidding.)   Seriously, this is the neatest list on the net.  Lots of talent and experiece here- fishers, tiers, rod-builders, plus all of the vocations that tag along out of necessity.  You can get help with cameras, photography, pc's, chemistry, insect repellants, canoes, homeopathic cures...    All that the owner of the list, Byard Miller, requires is that all keep it to flyfishing and flytying related topics.  That means no politics and no religion.  Asking for prayers in a crisis situation, since we're like a family here, is OK.  Everything within reason, though.  (There's even some redneck chuck'n-wind bass fishermen here.  Now you've seen our dirty laundry.)

So teach us something, and don't judge us too harshly.  ;O)

Well Don, I have been Flyfishing since about 1955 and tying flies since about 1957. I like fishing in the Catskills, when I can, but my home waters are just outside Rochester NY, called Oatka Creek and the Cohocton River in the southern tier near PA.
I have taught school in Rochester NY staring back in '55 and was a Town Judge for 28 years now retired from both.
I also play a little golf, with my wife
