I decided to go stillwater fishing around dusk last night. It is quite warm here in the sothern tier of NY. Several yellow perch and bass were brought to hand before the lightning sent me packing.
BTW I landed the bass on a mini-mouse that I submitted to a recent VFB foam fly swap (the actual fly was a "reject" from the swap, I didn't like the way the head came out when I tied it!!!). The bass pounced on it when it was about ten feet from shore! Close quarters indeed.
