if an SIK a GREAT FISHING YAK is the current designs Pachena DX http://www.cdkayak.com/ I would fish any shore line and would go 3- 5 miles off shore without batting an eye. Pretty sure Ken Sigvardson fished one of these. I am getting the Kestrel 140 and will let you know if it performs as well as the Pachena. I do like the flush mounted hatches on the Pachena more than the hurricane hatches on the kestrel, BUT I think I will like the xtra room in the Kestrel. If you are a Perception fan, the think the 2 mid size Carolinas will do fine. BUT if you are off shore at all- get a skirt and learn to roll. People die from yaking all the time. jg
